Thinking Outside the Die

ChristyUncategorized6 Comments

Lately I’ve been really into flowers. So much so, that I decided to invent my own.

I used a Sizzix die to make this, can you guess which one?

Now can you?

How about now?

Yup. It’s the Pine Tree from the Tim Holtz Alterations line. I cut out four trees, and then cut them each into 4 pieces. I used Glimmer Mist and Color Wash to color 3 of the pieces green, and the rest pink. Then it was just a matter of layering, gluing and curling to get this awesome tattered carnation.

I have to admit, I’m still a little bit in awe of my own genius here :o)

Recipe:
Paper: Staples White Cardstock, Bazzill
Stamp: Impression Obsession – Daffodils
Ink: Distress Ink – Broken China; Adirondack Color Wash – Lettuce; Glimmer Mist – Deep Plum, Scarlet, Key Lime Pie
Die Cut: Tim Holtz Alterations for Sizzix – Pine Tree

Challenges:
Die Cut Dreams: Easter
Incy Wincy: Bright and Bold
Simon Says Stamp: Tim Holtz Technique
Woodware: Die Cuts
