Peek A Boo!

It’s all well and good to have the ability to blog while I’m on the road, but having things to blog about is another matter entirely. There has been precious little crafting going on since we arrived in Maryland on Friday night. The last 3 days have been basically filled with watching people watch my child. They just all sit around and ooh and aah over every single thing she does. It’s pretty adorable, actually.

She has started (badly) mimicking sounds, so there’s been a whole lot of

Mom: What does the doggy say?
Allie: Buhbuhbuh.
Mom: Did you hear that? She said “woofwoofwoof.”
Me: …

and

Mom: Peek a boo!
Allie (with hands on her ears): dat da daaahhh!
Mom: SHE’S DOING IT!
Me: …

She has also learned how to open a box of Girl Scout Cookies, and that stairs (which we don’t have in our house) are the OMGBESTTHINGEVER. She has {still} not taken a step.

Possibly the cutest thing is the clock. My parents have a grandfather clock that chimes every 15 minutes. We’re all pretty immune to the sound, but Allie draws our attention to it every. single. time. We’ll be playing or talking or watching TV, and she’ll suddenly stop and say DAHHH! And then we’ll realize that yes, the clock is chiming again.

We are about to ice cupcakes for a little party my aunt is having tomorrow. Maybe they’ll be fancy enough for a substantive blog post…
