Sewing Notions Case

So close, you guys. So. Close.

With 30 minutes left in my sewing class last night, all I had left to do was top stitch all around my case, and add a button/button hole. Easy, right? It would have been, if Allie hadn’t decided that right then was the perfect time for the meltdown to end all meltdowns. We had to pack up and go home.

I think the portable infant phase is coming to a close. She’s just not content to sit and watch anymore, and that means I’m going to have to adjust my current social strategy of dragging her with me wherever I go. Bummer.

Anyway, here’s my {not quite finished} notions case. I like it a lot. The elastic holds spools of thread, the pocket on the left is big enough for a pair of scissors, and the pocket on the left holds pretty much anything else you can think of. I’m already planning a modified version to hold all of my knitting needles and crochet hooks, which are currently stored in a shoe box.

So, moms. How did you handle the increased mobility/decreased portability transition? Any tips or tricks to help keep her occupied while I do my thing?
