Yes, I know Mother’s Day was weeks ago. But remember that time I sent out my cards without taking pictures? Oh right, that’s every time I mail something. Of course this Mother’s Day was no exception. Lucky for me, I was able to snap a few pics of the card I sent my mom while we were home over the weekend.
I played around with doing more, but decided the simpler the better.
The embossing folder is from Sizzix, it’s a two pack called Roses and Frame (guess which one I used). I really enjoy doing faux letterpress with embossing folders, so I tried inking this one with black to make the frame look more antique, but since the silver metallic paper wasn’t very porous it didn’t turn out too well. I did decide to cut the inner rectangle out and place the photo underneath, rather than just gluing the picture down on top. I think it looks more like a real frame this way. I also considered adding a little flower or heart embellishment, but everything competed too much with the picture. And let’s face it. Allie is pretty enough on her own.
