Belated Valentine

I could lie and say I made this earlier in the month and forgot to post it, but the truth is I made it yesterday. The Valentine Cottage image sat on my desk for weeks waiting to be colored, while I made excuses. I didn’t have brick red markers, I couldn’t think of a fitting sentiment, I had too many other cards to do. Then suddenly I thought, “Pink!” and got to work.

Yes, I realize that this cottage has snow on the roof, and green grass and flowers in the yard. But in my fantasy world where flowers and smoke are shaped like hearts, I say that can happen.

The layout comes from CPS #206. I don’t love the pink papers, but that’s what I had in my stash. I must have 30 different shades of pink, but none of them were right. (So of course, I went out today and bought even more pink paper). Other than that, I love it.

My favorite is that it opens on the side instead of the bottom. I don’t know why I decided to do it that way, but I’m glad I did.
