Girls’ Night Out Card

Christy Copics, Ink & Paper 9 Comments

Posting will be sporadic this week while I direct fun for sales meetings at my husband’s office. Apologies in advance for the lack of crafts. I have a half-finished layout for my Ireland scrapbook sitting here just begging to be finished, but I have to be out the door in under an hour.

Anyway, this is a simple card I whipped up using scraps from a couple of old projects. I’d have liked to add a ribbon, similar to Heidi’s design over at Caardvarks, but I didn’t have any in a color I liked. Time to hit the store, right?

Despite the tiny size of these stamps, there’s a lot of fun coloring involved. I used G0000 and BG0000 for the martini glasses. The colors are too faint to show up in pictures, but I love the effect in person. The Daquiri is done in R32 with some colorless blender to give the look of a slushy texture. I also used my black Spica pen to add some highlighting to the stamped images. I love how much these pens sparkle. They’re amazing.

Finally, I applied just a touch of Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to the edges of the stamped circles to give them some dimension, and I ran just the edge of the background cardstock along a Black Soot to get rid of the faint yellow core that was showing through.
