Confetti Card

Christy Ink & Paper 8 Comments

There is not any confetti in or on this card. Instead, the card is named for the state of my desk after it was done. Craft punches are messy business.

And before my mom, my sister, my aunt, and/or my godmother go nuts, let me explain that my friend Heather asked me to make this card for a friend of hers who just adopted a baby girl. So the message has nothing to do with me.

I actually went through my limited supply of baby-related embellishments for a long time before I decided to abandon them completely. Then, while playing with my punches, I realized that these three looked really fun together. I covered the center stripe in Glitter Ritz just to add a little bit of fun.

The flower is from the Flower Layers #3 Sizzix die. I used Distress Worn Lipstick to add a little extra pop to each of the flower layers, then curled the petals around the end of a chopstick. I also clear embossed the tips of three of the layers just to add a little shine. Finally, the pink button used to be white, but I colored it with Copic RV06. I dabbed the ink on to give it a more textured look.

I printed the sentiment directly on the card. I’m pretty proud of myself for figuring out how to line everything up in Photoshop. The font is Rosewood STD, but I played with the height and width of the letters to get the effect I wanted.
